| The Osprey Aether 85 features a floating height lid, load
lifter straps, and a contoured fit harness. The
pack has a head relief curve built into the top of the main compartment
just above the backpanel to provide headroom and freedom of head movement. |
The Osprey Aether 85 shoulder harness is attached to the
backpanel with hook and loop fastener, and can be adjusted to fit different
torso lengths by peeling the backpanel away from the harness, moving
the harness to the desired length, and then reconnecting. |

| The Osprey Aether 85
features Osprey's breathable AirScape suspension system
which utilizes mesh over a nubbed foam backpanel to increase ventilation
and spring-like aluminum rods on the sides of the pack to provide
extra load comfort and shock absorption. |
Photo above was taken from the bottom of the Osprey Aether
85 looking up at the IsoForm hipbelt to show the thickness of the padding.
The IsoForm thermoplastic hipbelt can optionally be custom molded and
remolded with the help of a specialized oven at an Osprey dealer to fit
the contour of the user's body. Fit is very comfortable even without
the molding. |

| Side view of the Osprey Aether 85 IsoForm hipbelt shows
the two strap system which adjusts the hipbelt tension independently
over the top and bottom of the iliac crest. This two strap ErgoPull system
helps to distribute pressure more evenly and relieve direct pressure
on the hip bones. |
