The Ukiah features a rotating handle design that enables the user to stow the knife blade before safely using the full-size gut hook.  The green arrow points to the button release mechanism that allows the knife to rotate into either position.

The bone saw is deployed over the knife blade by way of two thumbstuds located on either side of the bone saw. In the image above the models' thumb is on one of the thumbstuds moving the saw towards the knife.

Ukiah with the bone saw fully deployed. The bone saw locks into place over the knife blade. The saw being over the knife blade offers extra rigidity for tough tasks when using the saw. The bone saw is unlocked by pushing the silver button as in image above. This allows the bone saw to be retracted and closed.

Ukiah comes with an elegant and durable dark brown leather sheath that features button closure for quiet operation in the field. A sturdy belt loop for placement onto a pack, gear bag, or belt permits hands-free portability. The sheath also incorporates a side compartment for storing the sharpening system.
