The new First Need XLE Elite is and upgrade to the popular First Need XL with a new XLE Elite canister that is more durable and shock proof and equipped with a new Cleanout Port for backwashing without hose removal and flow reversal, reducing contact with dirty water. The Cleanout Port extends canister life by efficient removal of silt and debris. The new XLE Elite canisters are also compatible with First Need XL and earlier systems.

"Hands-Free" Gravity Kit

The General Ecology First Need Deluxe water filter and purifier can be directly attached to a Nalgene wide mouth bottle (not included -bottles which measure 63mm on the outside of the opening and 53mm on the inside of the opening) as shown in the blue diagram at left.

The filter and purifier can be fed from a stream or, using the included "Hands Free" water bag,  gravity fed by hanging the bag as pictured in the color photo insert at left.
