The images below are of the older pre-2008 version of
the Big Agnes Lost Ranger. The features and stuffed size are the same as
the current version whose color scheme is pictured above.
This photo of the Big Agnes Lost Ranger 15 is shown with
the side zipper fully open. This mummy style bag uses a full length
zipper with draft tube and 650 down insulation.
The Big Agnes Lost Ranger 15 includes a storage sack and
a stuff sack for the bag. The gallon jug pictured in photo contains
an amount of water which is equivalent to the weight of the bag and stuff
sack (the jug is filled to 2.5" deep).
The Big Agnes Lost Ranger uses a double sided locking
zipper with a hook and loop fastener at the top to keep bag from opening. A
draft tube runs inside the zipper to keep cold air out. An insulated draft
yoke further reduces heat loss through the neck opening of the bag.
The Big Agnes Lost Ranger features an attached stuffable
pocket which can be used as a pillow. This blue pocket is shown
with a small pillow inside it in the photo above.
The Big Agnes Lost Ranger has a built in compartment on
the bottom side of the bag which can fit a Big Agnes sleeping pad. Photo
above shows the Lost Ranger with a REM Air Core Mummy sleeping pad in
use.
Photo above shows the Big Agnes Lost Ranger with a Big
Agnes Air Core sleeping pad fully inserted into the sleeping pad compartment
on the bottom of the Lost Ranger.
The face opening of the Big Agnes Lost Ranger can be cinched
closed by adjusting the dual drawstrings to help eliminate heat loss
through the face opening.
Big Agnes Integrated Bag & Pad System
The Big Agnes System is a different design than the traditional
sleeping bag lying on top of a sleeping pad. Instead, they join the
two together. With the Big Agnes System, the pad slides into a sleeve
on the bottom side of the bag and the top two-thirds of the bag is
insulated like a traditional bag. When insulation material is compressed
under your body it loses most of its ability to insulate. Big
Agnes eliminates the underside insulation and replaces it with a sleeve
to accommodate the pad which provides the insulation. This
design provides a secure foundation so you stay on the pad all night.
